Let’s start our tour of Khao Yai National Park at the Khao Yai Visitor Center. 2. Kongkaew Nature Trail
For those who want to immerse themselves in nature up close and also take beautiful photos, we invite you to continue your journey to the Kong Kaew Nature Trail, located behind the Khao Yai Visitor Center. It’s an easy trail, only 1.2 kilometers long, perfect for a relaxing stroll through the forest. There are bridges crossing streams and large trees along the way, providing plenty of photo opportunities.
3. Sai Sorn Reservoir
Here’s another beautiful spot in Khao Yai National Park: Sai Sorn Reservoir. This area is another great spot to watch the sunset in Khao Yai. Besides the sunset, a highlight is that you often see various animals, big and small, such as deer, monkeys, and birds, coming to drink water here.
4. Hew Narok Waterfall
Haew Narok Waterfall is a beautiful, tall, and thrilling natural attraction in Khao Yai National Park that you shouldn’t miss. This is a large, three-tiered waterfall with a total height of at least 150 meters. The waterfall features a massive volume of water cascading down from a high cliff, hidden within a ravine, creating a mysterious and stunning sight. It’s also easily accessible; it’s only a 1-kilometer walk from the parking lot.
5. Pha Kluai Mai Waterfall
Pha Kluai Mai Waterfall is another beautiful waterfall in Khao Yai National Park, but you’ll need to hike along the Pha Kluai Mai-Heo Suwat nature trail, which is near the Pha Kluai Mai campsite. The walk is about 1 kilometer and may not be very comfortable, so wearing sneakers is recommended.
6. Heo Suwat Waterfall
It’s safe to say almost everyone has heard of Heo Suwat Waterfall, as it’s a popular tourist destination where visitors love to relax. Heo Suwat Waterfall features a stream of water cascading down a cliff approximately 20 meters high, offering beautiful viewpoints both on the cliff face and at the bottom of the waterfall.
7. Pha Diew Dai viewpoint
For those planning a camping trip overnight in Khao Yai National Park and wanting to wake up to a beautiful sunrise, we recommend visiting Pha Diew Dai viewpoint. It’s located about 12 kilometers from the Lam Ta Khong campsite, a comfortable drive away. After parking, walk across to find the entrance to the Pha Diew Dai nature trail.
8. Nong Phak Chi Wildlife Observation Tower
Nong Phak Chi, or Nong Phak Chi Wildlife Observation Tower, is located within Khao Yai National Park. It’s used specifically for observing and studying wildlife. From the top, you can see nearby water sources and salt licks, making it ideal for observing various wild animals such as gaur, wild elephants, deer, muntjac, wild dogs, and many others. It’s a great place to see wildlife up close.
